Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT & Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT Team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on interesting projects using the latest technologies, catering to the needs of both in-house teams and a diverse range of clients.
As an IT & Systems Administrator, your responsibilities will include designing hardware configurations, installing software, and managing network systems. You will also play a crucial role in prioritizing and allocating work to the Desktop Support Team, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to established processes and operating procedures.
Reporting to the Head of Technology, your key responsibilities will be:
- Collaborate with the Head of Technology to assess system needs and make recommendations.
- Manage the workload and tickets assigned to the Desktop Support Technicians.
- Design and install computer hardware, software, and networking systems and configurations.
- Troubleshoot basic and complex hardware, network, and software issues.
- Implement and maintain high-level software security systems, ensuring regular updates and monitoring of portals.
- Ensure cybersecurity on computer systems and networks, including proactive monitoring of various systems and interfaces.
- Provide training to relevant team members on newly installed hardware and software systems.
- Maintain all backup systems to safeguard company data.
- Configure Hyper-V and VMWare systems.
- Ensure system compliance with industry standards and best practices, supporting the compliance team with renewals and ongoing improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field, or demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Extensive knowledge of computer hardware systems.
- Familiarity with Windows OS systems and Microsoft 365.
- Proficiency in database and networking security systems.
- Experience with LAN and wireless networks, as well as Cisco networking equipment.
- Previous exposure to industry standards and best practices would be advantageous.
- Cisco networking experience with switches and firewalls for initial issue diagnosis.
- Knowledge of large cloud-based phone systems and virtual infrastructure (VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure) would be an advantage.
