Today we’ve launched a brand-new recruitment app for jobs within the Humber region with the aim to help the region thrive and survive.
The Jobs4Humber app is aimed at anyone searching for work in the Humber at any level, as well as companies looking to source talent within the region.
“During these unprecedented times we all find ourselves in, it’s imperative that businesses do all they can to pull together and help repair the damage that CV-19 has caused. We have witnessed 1st hand the devastating impact of job losses, and the effect this has not only on people but on the companies having to make these tough decisions. As a business, we are focusing on doing the right thing, doing our bit and offering this app to any company or job seeker in the Humber as a platform for growth’
“Please download and support this cause and let’s see the Humber thrive once more”
Jo Fleming, Entrepreneur
The coronavirus pandemic has had a dramatic impact on the UK economy with hiring activity declining across the Humber during the lockdown. The app is completely free for both companies and candidates to use and aims to act as a central hub for all vacancies within the region.
“During lockdown hiring activity declined across the Humber, with many businesses postponing recruitment plans. As lockdown rules ease opportunities will increase, and Bondholder business leaders inform me the outlook is improving.
“As the economic place marketing company for the region, Marketing Humber fully supports retaining and attracting talent, which is crucial to regional economic growth.
“The new Jobs4Humber app will be a vital tool as we get the economy up and running again. GB Recruitment are experts at helping people find work and this free initiative will improve business confidence within the region as well as helping on an individual basis.”
Diana Taylor, Managing Director, Marketing Humber
Jobs4Humber has been launched in partnership with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Hull City Council and Marketing Humber to promote both the app and employment within the region.
“Now more than ever, Hull job-hunters need our help.
Councillor Daren Hale, Deputy Leader of Hull City Council
“With the economic impact of Covid-19, this app will help highlight opportunities within the region.
“We support this app, which was created as a one-stop platform for jobs in the Humber region. There are plenty of job sites, but none dedicated to our own area. We are on your side, and want our Humber economy to thrive.”
“East Riding of Yorkshire Council is excited to be part of the launch and hopes the new app will enable us to enhance our reach in the recruitment market to recruit high quality people to demanding but rewarding roles. There are many benefits of working for one of the East Riding’s largest employers, so we’d encourage jobseekers to take a look at the varied roles we have on offer. Working for East Riding of Yorkshire Council not only offers hundreds of career opportunities, but also provides great opportunities to develop your career, earn while you learn as well as a wide range of flexible working arrangements and other benefits. Working for the Council can also give you immense job satisfaction, as you are making a difference to the lives of people in your local community every day you are at work – that sense of accomplishment can be quite difficult to find in other professions.”
Councillor Richard Burton, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council
The app aims to help highlight all opportunities within the region and provide a seamless experience for both candidate and employer. Candidates are able to build their CV and apply directly through the app.
As well as vacancies the app will contain handy advice for those seeking work. It is packed full of the latest business news, local training courses and government advice.
The app will be available to download from both the Apple and Google app stores.
